Healthy Eating Shortcut #2: Frozen Plant-Based Meatballs

Healthy eating sounds great until it’s six o’clock and dinner still isn’t figured out. That’s usually when people start thinking takeout. One thing that has helped me is keeping a few convenience foods in my freezer that can become dinner in minutes. One of my favorites is a bag of plant-based meatballs.

Now, could I make homemade meatballs from scratch? Absolutely. But on a busy weeknight, having a bag ready to go means dinner is already halfway done before I even turn on the stove. They’re quick, versatile, and work in far more recipes than you might think. It’s not just spaghetti!

Today’s Shortcut: Frozen Plant-Based Meatballs

A bag of frozen plant-based meatballs might not seem exciting, but it can save a surprising amount of time.

Since they’re already seasoned, shaped, and cooked, all you have to do is heat them up and build a meal around them.

In about 20 minutes, you can have a comforting dinner on the table with very little effort.

That’s the kind of shortcut I can get behind.

What Can You Make With Plant-Based Meatballs?

Creamy Mushroom Stroganoff

This recipe reminds me of the stroganoff my mom used to make when I was growing up. The meatballs are served in a rich mushroom gravy and spooned over mashed potatoes for the ultimate comfort food.

Marry Me Meatballs

Inspired by the popular Marry Me Chicken trend, this version combines creamy sauce, spinach, sundried tomatoes, and meatballs for an easy pasta night dinner.

Sticky Asian Meatballs

These sweet and savory meatballs are coated in a quick ginger-hoisin sauce and make a fantastic dinner served with rice or cabbage salad.
