How I can help Dr. Oz’s Plant Based Diet Experiment
Published
May 11, 2011
Last week Dr. Oz challenged 30 women to try a plant-based diet for a week. Click here to see a video that shows the results. It was extremely discouraging for me to see the women sit down as he asked “How many failed after 1 day…How many failed after 2 days…” hardly any of the women stuck to the diet. Unfortunately this is what happens to most people who try to make the switch to a plant based diet. They fail.
The truth is, that these women were set up for failure because they did not have the tools they needed to stick with the healthier diet. And that my friends IS the reason we wrote Give Them Something Better we want to give mom’s and dad’s the tools they need to provide something better in their families. Familiar recipes that have been tested on real familes, tips for quick and make ahead meals, ways to provide for a support group and stress relief to increase success and most of all a real purpose and a plan for why you are doing it, keeping the end goal in mind. All this coupled with the assurance that as long as you eat a regular healthy diet, there is no guilt in a piece of birthday cake or a handful of jelly beans on occasion.
I would like to challenge Dr. Oz to try the experiment again, providing all the tools needed and see if he doesn’t get better results!
